When the much-loved Chang Thai in Ludlow closed after more than 20 years of serving the community, it left behind more than an empty restaurant. For chefs Moe Moe and Mon, it meant losing not only their workplace, but the place and people they had called home for over two decades.

These chefs were the original heart behind what later became Jup Jup - the very reason the restaurant was created in the first place. Their food, passion, and dedication to authentic Thai cooking inspired the vision from the very beginning: to give them stability, a future, and a home within the town they had become part of.

Now, Mahar Thai marks a new chapter.

Today, Moe Moe, Jamo, and Nat are proudly taking the lead, bringing the restaurant back to its true roots. With decades of experience, family recipes, and traditional techniques passed down through generations, Mahar Thai is more authentic than ever - returning to the original source, heart, and soul of the kitchen.
